Cyberpunk 2077, the latest game from The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt Red, is coming to Apple Silicon Macs on July 17. The game will be available in its “Ultimate Edition” form, which includes the Phantom Liberty DLC released back in September 2023.
This is good news for Mac gamers who are seeing more and more AAA games being ported to the platform. Recently, we’ve seen Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Shadows launch on day one on macOS, and recent high-profile games such as Resident Evil 4, Death Stranding, and Lies of P are available on the Mac App Store.
Buckle up, Mac chooms, 'cause we’ve got news you’ve been waiting for! ?

Cyberpunk 2077 received a lot of negative buzz on its release due to the poor performance of the Xbox One and PS4 versions, but the game still received praise for its highly detailed dystopian world and engaging storytelling. Cyberpunk 2077 also offers amazing performances of A-list actors Keanu Reeves and Idriss Elba (in the game’s Phantom Liberty DLC).
It’s probably going to take a while until more game developers start to take the Mac seriously as a gaming platform, but Apple’s work on its M-Series chips really helps. The M3 chip added support for dynamic caching, mesh shading, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing, while the M4 chip released last year has a ray tracing engine that’s twice as fast as the M3.
