Samsung Brings One UI 8 Watch to Galaxy Watch Ultra

Samsung is launching its new Galaxy Watch 8 lineup with One UI 8 Watch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 foldables. Today, Samsung announced the availability of One UI 8 Watch for the one wearable it’s not updating internally, the Galaxy Watch Ultra.

“The One UI 8 Watch update for Galaxy Watch Ultra unlocks the motivational health features and refined, intuitive interface unveiled with the new Galaxy Watch8 series to more Galaxy users,” the Samsung announcement explains. “With the update, Galaxy Watch Ultra users now have access to powerful tools like Running Coach, Vascular Load, and Antioxidant Index, all designed to help users build healthier habits through motivational insights.”

In addition to the features noted above, One UI 8 Watch provided an optimized new user interface with at-a-glance information, multi-info tiles for a customizable view (similar to Smart Stacks on Apple Watch), and the Now Bar, which is similar to the same feature in One UI 7/8 on phones.

Galaxy Watch Ultra is similar to the Apple Watch Ultra in that it’s a bigger wearable with more battery life than its more traditional stablemates. Samsung says that the new Galaxy Watch8 is designed for everyday wellness with comfort and style, while Galaxy Watch8 Classic offers timeless sophistication paired with advanced functionality, and Galaxy Watch Ultra “remains the ultimate wearable for those who love outdoor adventure.”

One UI 8 Watch will also progressively roll out to previous Galaxy Watch models, Samsung says.

Galaxy Watch Ultra costs $650 and isn’t changing internally, but Samsung will launch a new version of the wearable in Titanium Blue alongside the Galaxy Watch8 ($3800 and up) and Galaxy Watch8 Classic ($500 and up) soon. You can find out more at the Samsung website.
