Sony unveiled the new Pulse Elevate wireless speakers during its State of Play livestream yesterday. The new wireless speakers will join the company’s growing lineup of Pulse audio accessories, and Sony highlighted their broad compatibility thanks to Bluetooth and PlayStation Link support.
“As the first wireless speakers developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Pulse Elevate fits seamlessly in a PS5, PC, or Mac desktop gaming setup and can be enjoyed on the go with a PlayStation Portal remote player or smartphone. The wireless speakers feature exceptionally lifelike audio, ultra-low latency and lossless PlayStation Link wireless connectivity,” the PlayStation team explained.
On a desk, the new Pulse Elevate wireless speakers can be adjusted horizontally or vertically, all while sitting on their charging docks. Sony promises the best audio experience with PlayStation 5 games that support its Tempest 3D audio technology. The company’s PlayStation Link technology, which is natively supported on the PS5 and the PlayStation Portal, offers ultra-low latency and lossless connectivity on these devices. PC and Mac owners will be able to enjoy the same experience when using Sony’s PlayStation Link USB adapter.
PlayStation Link is essentially Sony’s response to Microsoft’s proprietary Xbox Wireless protocol, which the company utilizes on its Xbox wireless controllers and headsets. The Pulse Elevate wireless speakers will also support simultaneous PlayStation Link and Bluetooth connections, allowing players to use their phone for music, voice chat, and more. The wireless speakers will also feature a built-in mic with AI-enhanced noise rejection, allowing users to adjust mic mute settings directly via the PS5 system menus.
Sony’s Pulse Elevate wireless speakers will be released in 2026, and they will be available in both Midnight Black and White (while supplies last). The company has yet to announce pricing details for its first wireless speakers, however.
