Microsoft Issues New Dev and Beta Builds with Copy & Search and Other New Features

There’s no rest for the wicked and no rest for those who have a PC enrolled in the Windows Insider Program either. Today, Microsoft issued identical builds to the Dev and Beta channels with a few new features that will soon appear in Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 24H2.

If you’re in the Dev channel, you can download and install cumulative update KB5067109 and upgrade Windows 11 version 25H2 to build 26220.6982. Those in Beta will similarly get KB5067109 and upgrade to Windows 11 version 24H2 build 26120.6982. New features and other changes include:

Copy & Search. This feature lets you search the text in the Clipboard using the Search box in the Windows 11 Taskbar. That is, when you copy text to the Clipboard, a Paste “gleam” (icon) appears to the right of the Search box in the Taskbar and you can then click that gleam (icon) to search for the copied text.

Voice Typing improvements. There’s a new “Wait time before acting” option in Voice Typing that lets you configure the delay that occurs before a voice command is executed. “This provides greater flexibility for users with varying speech patterns, enabling more accurate recognition whether speaking slowly or quickly,” Microsoft says.

Proactive Memory Diagnostics. This new Windows 11 feature will display a notification if your PC blue-screens and restarts suggesting a quick memory scan during the next reboot. If an issue is found and mitigated, you’ll be notified of that as well.

Other changes. Device Cards in Settings has been updated to provide clearer information, Settings > About has been “enhanced,” the Settings search flyout can now be scrolled through, Click to Do is getting hints to help people discover Actions, the search box in the new Start menu now matches the one in Search, and other changes are available in these builds as well, along with various fixes.
