Spotify Launches Audiobook Charts in the US and UK

Spotify is launching new Audiobook charts for users in the US and the UK. The new charts are available within the app’s Audiobooks hub, and they will be updated weekly to reflect listening behavior and engagement.

As you probably know, Spotify already offers charts for music and podcasts, so it makes sense for the streaming service to also surface the most popular audiobooks on the platform. Spotify Premium users currently enjoy 15 hours of audiobook listening per month, while Free users can purchase audiobooks a la carte on the web.

“This launch is designed to benefit the entire audiobook ecosystem. For book lovers, charts provide a trusted guide to the titles people are listening to right now. For authors and the publishing industry, they create opportunities for books to be discovered, helping stories reach new audiences and build lasting fandom,” Spotify explained today.

The arrival of Audiobook Charts on Spotify follows the recent launch of Audiobook Recaps on iOS and Page Match, a new feature that lets users seamlessly transition from reading a physical book to listening to the audiobook version without losing their position. The streaming service also announced earlier this month that it will start selling physical books via a new partnership with Bookshop.org.
