The last time Sony raised the price of its PS5 consoles was in August 2025, when all models got a $50 price increase. Microsoft also bumped the prices of its Xbox consoles in the US in September 2025, and the PlayStation 5 with a disc drive now matches the $649.99 price of the Xbox Series X. At the time, Microsoft also cited “changes in the macroeconomic environment” to justify the new pricing structure.

As for Nintendo, the company also raised the price of the original Switch from $299 to $339 back in August, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the $449.99 Switch 2 eventually gets a price bump too.
