Discord is now available as a native app on Qualcomm-powered PCs. As spotted by Neowin, an ARM64 installer is now available from Discord’s website as an alternative to the x86 version.
The company has yet to communicate the public release of this new ARM64 version, which was said to be in the early stages of development last year. Discord could already run through emulation on Windows on ARM, but the experience is quite subpar, as it often happens with emulated apps on Qualcomm-powered PCs.
If you have a Qualcomm-powered PC, you can download this new native version of Discord from this page. You’ll need to scroll down to the “download for desktop” section of the page, then click on Windows, and select “ARM64″ from the dropdown menu to get the correct installer.
Discord is also available from the Microsoft Store on Windows 11, but as of this writing, the store listing doesn’t mention native support for ARM64 devices. That’s why I recommend going straight to Discord’s website to get the ARM64 installer.
In case you missed it last week, Discord also announced that all voice and video calls on the platform are now end-to-end encrypted by default. At the moment, the company doesn’t plan to bring end-to-end encryption to text conversations, however.
