Microsoft Issues the Week D Preview Updates for Windows 11

It’s the Tuesday of Week D on the Windows Update schedule, and we all know what that means: New preview updates ahead of the Patch Tuesday in June.

As per recent months, those on Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2 can optionally install the same update, in this case KB5089573, which will bring the OS up to builds 26100.8524 and 26200.8524, respectively. And unlike in recent months, those on Windows 11 version 26H1 are no longer a month behind: You can install KB5089570, which will upgrade the OS to build 28000.2179. Key new features and changes in these updates are the same across the board and include:

• Shared audio support over Bluetooth LE

• Multi-app camera support

• Choose a custom name for your user folder during Windows Setup

• Improvements to Magnifier, Secure Boot (in Windows Security), Task Manager, Windows Hello, and Windows Search

• Performance improvements for app and core system experiences

• Reliability improvements for the sign-in and Lock screens
