Right after Apple wrapped up its WWDC 2026 keynote yesterday, Google announced some big changes to its AI Plus subscription, with the price dropping from $7.99/month to $4.99. The included Google Drive storage is also doubling from 200GB to 400GB. All benefits can also be shared with up to five people in the same family group.
Google AI Plus includes 2x higher usage limits for Gemini 3.1 Pro and Deep Research, as well as more access to image, music, and video generation models in Gemini and Search. Subscribers also get higher usage limits in NoteBookLM, Google’s Research assistant.

The subscription also unlocks Gemini in Google Workspace apps, as well as the new AI inbox in Gmail. The latter, which is rolling out gradually, helps users to filter out clutter by identifying their VIPs based on various signals. It can also suggest personalized draft replies, surface links to relevant documents, and intelligently mark to-dos as done.
These upgrades to Google’s AI Plus plan come nearly two months after the company expanded Google AI Pro’s storage offering from 2TB to 5TB at no additional cost. Last month during Google I/O, the company also launched a cheaper $99/month Google AI Ultra plan with 20TB of storage, and it also dropped the price of its original AI Ultra Plan from $250 to $200.
