The Google Photos app is adding a new Video Remix feature that uses AI to restyle videos, change the background scenery, and more. The feature is now rolling out to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in select countries, and it’s located in the app’s Create tab.
Powered by our Gemini Omni model, Video Remix lets you make stylized, imaginative memories from a library of easy-to-use templates,” the Google Photos team explained. “Instantly apply cinematic relighting to spruce up a dark clip, swap out a plain background for something fun, or add artistic treatments, such as watercolor, raw sketchbook and oil painting effects.”

Video Remix is powered by Gemini Omni, the company’s new world model that can generate content in any output modality from any input. The new model can also be used to create YouTube Shorts videos, and it’s also available within the YouTube Create, Google Flow, and Gemini apps.
Video Remix is joining the growing list of AI-powered editing features in Google Photos’ Create tab, including photo-to-video capabilities. Last month, the ability to edit images using the conversational Ask Photos experience also started rolling out to Pixel and Android users in the U.K, Germany, France, Spain and Italy.
