Microsoft Announces Five New Windows 11 Insider Builds

The improvements just keep on coming: There are five new Windows Insider Preview builds today across multiple channels but no major new features.

New builds include:

• Beta (Build 26220.8925) – The new Start menu that was previously in Experimental, plus minor improvements to File Explorer, Narrator, and more.
• Experimental (Build 26300.8935) – Minor improvements to File Explorer, Desktop backgrounds, Widgets, and more.
• Beta (26H1) (Build 28020.2539) – Narrator improvements plus minor improvements to Voice access, Settings, and Sounds.
• Release Preview 24H2/25H2 (Build 26100.8942/26200.8942) – This preview of the August 2026 Patch Tuesday update includes minor improvements to File Explorer, Windows Search, Voice access, Widgets, touchpad settings, Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS), and more.
• Release Preview 26H1 (Build 28000.2597) – This preview of the August 2026 Patch Tuesday update includes the new Windows Update and the new Widgets, plus minor improvements to File Explorer, Bluetooth, Voice access and voice typing, and more.

There are no builds for Experimental (26H1) or Experimental (Future Platforms).
