Google is rolling out new content personalization features across Google Search, the Google Discover feed in the Google mobile app, and Google News. In the Google app, users will soon be able to specify which news they want to see using a natural-language prompt.
“You’ll be able to tap any three-dot menu in your feed to tell Google the exact topics or links you want to see more (or less) of, in your words. Your feed will adjust on the fly, and remember your requests,” Google explained yesterday. Users will also be able to refine their Discover feed at any time via the new conversational interface.
In the Google News app on Android, Google is also adding the ability to customize the daily audio briefings and pick up the topics that relate to their interests the most. These audio briefings also show article links for diving deeper into a specific story.
Lastly, Google is introducing a new “Preferred Sources” button that publishers can embed on their pages to let readers easily add their websites as one of their favorite sources. Preferred sources appear more prominently across Top Stories in Google News and Google Discover, as well as AI Overviews and AI Mode in Google’s search results page.
