Vivaldi 8.2 for Desktop Adds PWA, Address Bar Improvements

Vivaldi has released the latest version of its web browser on Windows, Mac, and Linux with some nice improvements for Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) and the address bar.

One full of useful features that help you find joy in your daily browsing; one that lets you customize things to your liking; one that doesn’t spy on you.”

Here’s what’s new in Vivaldi 8.2 on desktop:

Improved PWA discoverability. Vivaldi now displays a prominent “Install” button in the Address bar when the site you’re viewing is an installable web app. If you return to the site again, you’ll see an icon in the Address box prompting you to open it in the app. (And as before, you can visit vivaldi://apps to see installed PWAs.)

Calculator in the Address box. You can now perform math directly in the Vivaldi Address bar using its new local calculator. When you tap Enter, the result is copied to your Clipboard. (This was already available in Vivaldi’s Quick Commands menu.)
