New Windows 11 Insider Builds Are Available on the Experimental and Beta Channels

Microsoft has just released five new Windows 11 Insider builds for testers on the Experimental and Beta Channels today. There’s also a new 26H1 Release Preview build to complete the updates for Windows 11 versions 24H2/25H2 that were released yesterday.

The main changes today are happening on the “regular” Experimental channel that’s receiving the build 26340.9482 today. Insiders on this channel may see a new teaching tip about customization options when they open the context menu. In File Explorer, the Search from “This PC” option is now indexer-based, and it should now work faster and deliver results that are consistent with search from File Explorer Home.

When using screen capture, Insiders will now see a more visible red border instead of a yellow one around the captured area. In the taskbar, this new build also improves how the IME icon scales in the taskbar when using small taskbar icons.

Insiders installing the Experimental (26H1) build 28120.3002 will get the ability to pin their favorite apps in the Windows share window and navigate the Bluetooth quick settings page with a gamepad. The Experimental (Future Platforms) build 29667.1000, however, brings support for Emoji 17.0 and fixes a rollback issue preventing some Insiders from installing more recent builds.

On the Beta Channel, the 26H1 build 28020.2991 includes the same improvements as the Experimental 26H1 build 28120.3002. Lastly, the Beta build 26220.9472 brings cross-device resume improvements for webpages opened on an Android phone.
