GTA VI is Reportedly Coming to PC in Q1 2027

GTA VI Release Date

PC gamers looking forward to playing GTA VI may not have to wait long to get their hands on the game. A new report from Gamesbeat revealed yesterday that Rockstar Games is currently targeting a Q1 2027 release window for the PC version of the game, which will be released first on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles on November 19, 2026.

Gamesbeat’s report, which is based on “four industry sources familiar with the studio’s plans,” emphasizes that Rockstar Games may need the large PC audience to maximize sales of the blockbuster game, which may have a production budget exceeding $2 billion. It’s been 13 years since Rockstar Games released GTA V on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and GTA VI is clearly one of the most-anticipated games of all time.

While GTA VI won’t have an online mode at launch, the inclusion of GTA Online really helped GTA V to sell over 230 million copies as of August 2026. Gamesbeat pointed out that the PC version of GTA Online has a huge role-playing audience, and Rockstar Games may be incentivized to implement more content creation tools into GTA VI’s online mode, which has yet to be officially announced.

Last week, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma teased during an internal meeting that Microsoft had partnered with Rockstar Games on something “no other platform holder is doing.” The company apparently obtained cloud streaming rights for GTA VI on Xbox consoles, though Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball quickly clarified that “the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC.”
