Apple Music is getting a new visual identity today with a redesigned logo that the company said is “made by sound.” This is the first branding change for the streaming service since its launch back in 2015, and Apple told the story behind the new logo in a short video.
To create this new brand identity for Apple Music, Apple teamed up with musician Fred again.. and NEST Acoustics. The new logo is a reflection of the physical effect of a sound wave on liquid.
The animated logo is also clearly reminiscent of Apple’s new Liquid Glass design language that the company introduced last year on iOS 26 and further refined on iOS 27. Last year, Apple also gave its Apple TV service a new visual identity as it ditched the “Apple TV+” branding.
This new Apple Music logo will likely start rolling out with the 27.2 versions of Apple’s software platforms, which should be released very soon. As for the service itself, it still starts at $11.99 per month for individual subscribers, but there’s also a $19.99/month Family plan for up to six users in the same household.
