Copilot for Microsoft 365 is Now Available Within Windows Copilot

Microsoft announced today that Copilot for Microsoft 365, the paid version of the AI assistant for commercial customers is now available within the Copilot for Windows sidebar. For organizations with a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license and Copilot in Windows enabled, there will be a new toggle allowing customers to switch between the regular Copilot experience and Copilot for Microsoft 365.

Copilot on Windows currently works as a pinned Edge window that’s accessible from a taskbar shortcut, but IT pros can disable it on managed devices. On the new toggle, the Copilot for Microsoft 365 experience in the Copilot sidebar is labeled as “Work”, while “Web” designates the standard Copilot experience with commercial protection for Microsoft 365 commercial customers.

When enabled, Copilot for Microsoft 365 in Copilot for Windows will let users ask work-related questions, catch up on Teams meetings, get help for writing an email, and more. “This will bring Graph-grounded chat capabilities to Copilot in Windows for users who have a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license and Copilot for Windows enabled,” Microsoft said today.

Copilot for Microsoft 365, which is priced at $30 per user per month on top of a Microsoft 365 commercial subscription, is also available in the Copilot web app, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Teams, and other Microsoft 365 desktop apps. Last month, Microsoft expanded the availability of its productivity assistant by removing the 300-seat purchase minimum for commercial plans and making it available for Office 365 E3 and E5 customers.

While Copilot for Microsoft 365 is now available for businesses of all sizes, Microsoft also recently launched Copilot Pro, a new $20/month consumer-oriented subscription that brings more AI capabilities to Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers.
