Logitech’s AI Prompt Builder Can Put ChatGPT on your Mouse and Keyboard

Logitech is launching today a new AI Prompt Builder tool that lets users of select Logitech mice and keyboards prompt ChatGPT with the press of a button or key. The company is also launching today a new Signature AI Edition Mouse with a dedicated AI prompt button.

The Logi AI Prompt Builder can be configured in the free Logi Options+ app for Windows and macOS, and it’s compatible with Logitech MX, Ergo, Signature, and Studio Series devices. The app lets users of those Logitech devices choose a keyboard key or a mouse button that will open ChatGPT in a pop-up window.

The Logitech AI Prompt Builder can automatically copy highlighted text and suggest actions in ChatGPT, such as rephrasing and summarizing the text. Users can also save time by creating custom queries to use with ChatGPT. You can see a demo of how it works in the video below.

“As the bridge between people and their digital experiences, Logitech has a critical role to play in the evolution of AI, both with new innovation and our existing portfolio,” said Delphine Donné, general manager of the Personal Workspace business at Logitech. Overall, this software approach seems to be better than Microsoft forcing PC manufacturers to add a Copilot keyboard key on new “AI PCs,” but it would be even better if Logi AI Prompt Builder allowed users to access other generative AI apps than ChatGPT.

Logitech is still following the Microsoft approach with its new Signature AI Edition Mouse, which comes with a dedicated AI prompt button for accessing the company’s AI Prompt Builder. This mouse will be available to purchase exclusively on logitech.com in the US and the UK, and it will be priced at $49.99 and £54.99 respectively.
