Google announced today that it’s making its standalone Gemini app available for free with Google Workspace Business, Enterprise, and Frontline plans. This Gemini for Workspace experience, which is available at gemini.google.com, will also offer enterprise-grade data protections to Google Workspace customers.
“Now, millions of Workspace customers can access the benefits of AI, while knowing that their organization’s privacy, security, and compliance policies will be upheld,” said Aparna Pappu, General Manager and Vice President of Google Workspace today. While Google promises that it doesn’t use its customers’ data to train its Gemini AI, IT admins can also control how the app stores user prompts and responses.
To access Google Gemini within Gmail, Google Drive, and other Workspace apps, customers will still need to pay for a separate Gemini for Workspace add-on: Monthly payments start at $20 per user per month for the Gemini Business plan, and $30 per user per month for the Gemini Enterprise plan.
As it prepares to make its standalone Gemini app to Workspace customers, Google also announced today the upcoming launch of a new security advisor in the Google Workspace admin console. The online tool will roll out to all Workspace Business edition customers over the next few weeks, and it will offer new insights and data protection capabilities to help organizations of all sizes enhance their security against cyber threats.
