Meta is making Meta AI available in six new countries today including the UK. The AI chatbot previously launched in select Latin American countries in the summer, and it’s also coming to Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, and the Philippines today.
In the UK, Meta AI is also available on Ray-Ban Meta glasses starting today, though it’s limited to voice support. The AI chatbot is also now available on Ray-Ban Meta glasses in Australia, and it’s adding support for the Austronesian language Tagalog.
Meta AI is currently available on the web at meta.ai, but it’s also integrated into Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger, which all have over 1 billion users. The intelligent assistant can answer questions, generate images, help users learn more about what’s around them, and it can also talk using a selection of celebrity voices including Kristen Bell, John Cena, and Judi Dench.
In the coming weeks, Meta plans to launch Meta AI in 15 additional markets, including some countries in the Middle East for the first time. The list of upcoming countries include Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Thailand, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and Yemen. The assistant will also soon add support for Arabic, Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese.
“Following this gradual rollout, Meta AI will be available in 43 countries and a dozen languages. That means more people than ever will be able to use Meta AI to dive deep on topics that spark their interest, get helpful how-tos and find inspiration for art projects, home decor, OOTDs and more,” the company said today.
Meta excepts Meta AI to become the world’s most popular AI assistant by the end of the year with approximately 500 million monthly active users. After delaying the launch of its intelligent assistant in Europe, the company said in June that it was still working with local regulators to bring Meta AI to European users.
