Google has made Gemini 2.5 Pro, its most advanced model for complex tasks free to use for all users. The experimental model was announced last week alongside Gemini 2.5, and it was only available for Gemini Advanced subscribers until now.
“The team is sprinting, TPUs are running hot, and we want to get our most intelligent model into more people’s hands asap. Which is why we decided to roll out Gemini 2.5 Pro (experimental) to all Gemini users,” the company announced on X yesterday. Gemini 2.5 Pro is currently available for free on the web (with usage limits) from the chatbot’s drop-down menu, and the team is working to make it available on mobile soon.

With Gemini 2.5 Pro, Google promised “enhanced performance, improved accuracy, and the ability to support even more capable, context-aware agents.” The company said it was best suited for multimodal reasoning, advanced coding, and math and science.
Users with a Gemini Advanced subscription currently have no rate limits on this model. They also enjoy a larger context window with a 1 million token limit. The video below shows how Gemini 2.5 Pro can be used to create a game using executable code from a single-line prompt.
Google previously said that it’s already planning to double the context window of its experimental AI model to 2 million tokens. Gemini 2.5 Pro will also be available within Vertex AI, Google’s unified AI development platform within the coming weeks.
