Copilot Vision is Now Available for Microsoft Edge Users in the US

Copilot Vision

Copilot Vision, a new AI feature that can offer insights on what’s on your screen is now available for all Microsoft Edge users in the US. The feature is now free to use in Edge and no longer requires a Copilot Pro subscription, though subscribers will enjoy higher usage limits.

With Copilot Vision, Microsoft wants the consumer version of its AI assistant to work like “a second set of eyes” on what you see on your PC screen or mobile camera. When enabled, users can interact with Copilot and get information in real time. Copilot Vision is also available on Windows via the Copilot app, but only for Insiders at the moment. It’s also available on the Copilot mobile app, but that currently requires a Copilot Pro subscription.

Overall, the feature differs from Recall, which is only available on Copilot+ PCs. In Microsoft Edge, Copilot Vision can only see what you share in the active Edge window. If the AI feature doesn’t record screenshots and conversations with the assistant, users can delete transcripts of their conversations at any time.

To enable Copilot Vision, Edge users in the US will first need to opt in on this page. The feature can then be accessed by clicking on the Copilot icon and then on the microphone button next to the compose window. A glasses icon will appear to indicate that Vision is currently active.

According to Microsoft, Copilot Vision works on most sites except those containing harmful or adult content. The feature will stop analyzing what’s happening in the current tab if you deactivate it in the composer, remain inactive for an extended period, or just close the active Edge window.

If you want to revert to the previous Copilot experience in Edge, you can do so by checking Edge Settings. Microsoft plans to roll out Copilot Vision in Edge to more markets soon.
