Copilot Vision on Windows

Copilot Vision, the new feature that makes Microsoft’s AI assistant capable of seeing what’s on your screen is now available for Windows users in the US. I wrote earlier today that’s is also free to try on mobile via the Copilot app for iOS and Android, with Copilot Pro subscribers still enjoying higher usage limits.

Microsoft first launched Copilot Vision on the web via its Edge browser last year, and the company later made the feature available within its Copilot Windows app for Insiders in April. Following two months of testing, Copilot Vision is now available for all Windows 11 and Windows 10 users in the US.

“Copilot Vision on Windows is an all-new way to engage with your Windows PC, assisting you when needed,” the Copilot team said today. “When you choose to enable it, Copilot Vision can see what you see and talk to you about it in real time. It acts as your second set of eyes, able to analyze content, help when you’re lost, provide insights, and answer your questions as you go.”

To get started with Copilot Vision, Windows users in the US just need to click the glasses icon in the composer in the Copilot for Windows app and then select which browser window or app they want to share. It’s now possible to share two apps at once with Microsoft’s AI assistant, which can then analyze their content, offer insights, or answer questions about them. Users can also ask Copilot “show me how” to complete a task using the Highlights feature.

It’s worth noting that Copilot Vision won’t be able to analyze content if it includes harmful or DRM-protected material. Once the session ends, Copilot also never logs or stores user images, voice audio, and context, though transcripts of voice conversations will remain (they can be deleted manually).

Copilot Vision is a fully opt-in experience that Microsoft plans to bring it to non-European markets soon. “We’re committed to refining and expanding its capabilities, with new features and functionality on the horizon,” the Copilot team said today.
