Ignite 2025: Microsoft Agent 365 is a New Management Platform for AI Agents

Microsoft introduced a new Microsoft Agent 365 platform at its Ignite IT pro conference this morning, which will help organizations to better manage AI agents. It’s available in early access through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, and it will also support AI agents created with non-Microsoft platforms.

“Agent 365 delivers unified observability across your entire agent fleet through telemetry, dashboards, and alerts. IT leaders can track every agent being used, built, or brought into the organization, eliminating blind spots and reducing risk,” explained Charles Lamanna, President, Business Apps & Agents at Microsoft.

The core capabilities of Microsoft Agent 365 include the Microsoft Entra registry, which organizations can use to manage agents identified with a unique agent ID. IT pros will also get access to risk-based access policies, advanced security features, and performance measurement tools.

The Microsoft Agent 365 ecosystem will include Microsoft agents built in Copilot Studio that will be able to seamlessly connect to an organization’s data. However, Agent 365 will support interoperability with AI agents built by third-party partners like Adobe and Databricks, as well as open-source agents published on GitHub.

“Agent 365 marks a new chapter in how organizations build, secure, and scale their agents. This is a shift from isolated experiments to enterprise readiness, where agents operate as part of a unified, governed, and productive system,” Lamana said today.

Microsoft Agent 365 is available now through Microsoft Frontier, the company’s early access program for new AI features. Once enabled, IT pros will be able to access Agent 365 features in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, as well as Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Defender.
