Spotify’s Prompted Playlist Beta Expands to the US and Canada

Spotify Prompted Playlist

The new Prompted Playlist feature that Spotify launched in beta in New Zealand last month will be rolling out soon to Premium users in the US and Canada. The AI-powered playlist lets users describe in their own words what they want to hear, and Spotify will use that information plus users’ listening history to pick up the most relevant songs.

“You’re not just asking for music, you’re shaping how Spotify goes about discovering it for you. That might mean fresher tracks and emerging artists only, deeper cuts based on what you already love, specific genres to include or exclude, or playlists shaped around cultural moments,” the company explained today.

Prompted playlists can use your entire listening history on Spotify and combine it with fresh music trends to perfect their recommendations. The AI-powered playlists can be refreshed daily or weekly, and they can also be shared with friends just like any other playlist.

Spotify said that Prompted Playlists will become available for all Premium users in the US and Canada by the end of the month. Getting started will be as simple as tapping the Create button and selecting Prompted Playlist, but the app’s Home screen will also feature example prompts from Spotify’s music editors and culture experts to give users some inspiration.
