OpenAI Launches $100/Month ChatGPT Pro Plan For Heavy Codex Users

OpenAI just launched a cheaper ChatGPT Pro plan priced at $100/month that provides access to all Pro features and 5x more Codex usage than its $20/month Plus plan. The original $200/month ChatGPT Pro plan remains available for heavy users who need 20× higher limits than the Plus plan.

For those unfamiliar, Codex is OpenAI’s new AI coding agent that’s available as a native macOS app. With the release of its latest GPT-5.3 Codex model in February, OpenAI claimed that Codex went “from an agent that can write and review code to an agent that can do nearly anything developers and professionals can do on a computer.

In addition to higher usage limits for Codex and Deep Research (which are also available on the Plus plan), the new $100/month ChatGPT Pro plan includes access to OpenAI’s most capable Pro model, as well as unlimited access to its Instant and Thinking models. Users can switch between the $100 and $200 Pro plans at any time, which offer the same core capabilities. However, the latter is really for users needing to run demanding workflows continuously.

“To celebrate the launch, we’re increasing Codex usage for a limited time through May 31st so that Pro $100 subscribers get up to 10x usage of ChatGPT Plus on Codex to build your most ambitious ideas,” OpenAI announced yesterday. The company is also tweaking Codex usage limits on its ChatGPT Plus plan to “support more sessions throughout the week, rather than longer sessions in a single day.”
