Google’s Gemini Spark AI Agent is Now Available on macOS

Google Gemini Spark macOS app

Google’s new Gemini Spark agent that launched for AI Ultra Subscribers in the US last month is now available in the Gemini app for macOS. Until now, the new AI agent was only available on the Gemini app on the web and mobile, and the new macOS integration is now live for Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US aged 18 and over.

Gemini Spark works as a personal AI agent that can access Mac files and desktop apps and execute tasks in the background. It’s similar to Perplexity’s Personal Computer for Mac or the free and open-source OpenClaw.

Mac users can control which local apps and files Gemini Spark can have access to. “For example, you can turn hours of manual file sorting into an instant action by asking Gemini Spark to sort all the PDFs in your Downloads into specific folders. Gemini Spark also connects your desktop and Google Workspace, so you can simply ask it to create a budget spreadsheet using the latest invoices saved to your computer, and create a schedule to update it regularly,” Google explained.

On the web and mobile, Gemini Spark will get new integrations with Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable and Zillow Rentals over the next week. These new integrations with third-party apps will come to the macOS app in the coming weeks.

Google announced other upcoming updates for Gemini Spark agent, including the ability to intelligently track topics and react to events in real time. The personal AI agent will also soon be able to connect with even more services over the open-source Model Context Protocol (MCP) standard that’s now supported by major AI providers.
