Google Gemini Can Now Connect to More Productivity and Lifestyle Apps

Google’s Gemini chatbot is adding new integrations with various productivity, creativity, and lifestyle apps today. Services like Squarespace, Peloton, Airtable, Monday.com, and Piscart are now available right from the chat interface, joining high-profile apps such as Canva and Dropbox.

“We are bringing more of your favorite apps directly into Gemini. Instead of switching between tabs, you can now manage projects, design creative assets, and plan your workouts all in one place,” Google said today.

To access these third-party apps, Gemini users can just enable them in the chatbot’s settings or @mention them right from the chat window. Gemini also supports custom apps that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which is an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to external data sources.

It certainly took some time, but Gemini is now available as a desktop app on Windows after a Mac version was released five months ago. The new desktop app can be easily accessed with a keyboard shortcut, and Google said earlier this month that more native desktop capabilities would be coming over time.
