Anthropic Claude Now Integrates with Microsoft 365

Last month, we heard that Microsoft 365 may get new AI features powered by Anthropic Claude. Well, it’s true, sort of: Anthropic recently announced its Microsoft 365 connector for Claude, which integrates the AI with your organization’s documents, communications, and calendar.

“Claude now integrates with Microsoft 365 and offers enterprise search across your connected tools,” the Anthropic announcement explains. “Claude works with the productivity tools you use every day, bringing context from your documents, emails, and calendar directly into your conversations. Spend less time gathering information and more time on the decisions and work that drive impact.”

With this connector, Claude can be grounded in your documents across SharePoint sites and libraries and OneDrive, so you no longer need to manually uploaded documents one at a time. It can access email threads, communication patterns, and understand project status, client feedback, and team alignment in Outlook. And it can search Microsoft Teams chat conversations, channel discussions, and meeting summaries to “surface decisions, track project updates, and understand what your team has been discussing.”

Claude with the Microsoft 365 connector also enables a form of enterprise search, where you can use custom prompts to search across data silos from a single location, ask it about company policies, and generate reports.

The Microsoft 365 connector for Claude is available now for all Claude Team and Enterprise plan customers, though admins must first enable it within their organizations. Enterprise search is available for all Claude Team and Enterprise organizations, with the same caveat.
