GitHub Copilot Enterprise is Now Available

GitHub Copilot Enterprise

GitHub announced today that its customizable GitHub Copilot Enterprise offering is now available to organizations for $39 per user per month.

“Since the early days of GitHub Copilot, our customers have asked us for a copilot that is customized to their own organization’s code and processes,” GitHub’s Thomas Dohmke writes in the announcement post. “The inaccessibility of institutional knowledge acts as a blockade preventing developers from fully exercising their creativity and building more for you. We’re changing that.”

GitHub now offers three different Copilot subscriptions. GitHub Copilot Individual costs $10 per user per month (or $100 per year) and is aimed at individual developers, freelancers, students, and educators. GitHub Copilot Business costs $19 per user per month, is aimed at organizations, adds user license management and single sign-on capabilities, and excludes organizational data from training by default. And now GitHub Copilot Enterprise, at $39 per user per month, expands on those offerings, most notably by allowing organizations to customize the product.

Copilot Enterprise integrates chat with GitHub.com so developers can ask questions and receive answers about the organization’s codebase using natural language. It also provides personalized coding assistance and suggestions tailored to the organization’s codebase and standards, generates pull request summaries, and analyzes pull request diffs so users can understand proposed changes more quickly and spend more time providing feedback. And now available in beta, GitHub Copilot Enterprise also offers integrated Bing search capabilities in chat so you can bring in the latest information from the Internet.

GitHub Copilot Enterprise provides the same seat and policy management features as Copilot Business, but it requires that your organization is already using GitHub Enterprise Cloud. You can learn more about this offering from the GitHub website or the GitHub Docs site.
