Two weeks after making Gemini in Chrome available to consumers, Google has brought it to Workspace customers.
“Starting today, Gemini in Chrome is available to Google Workspace users with access to the Gemini app,” the Workspace Updates Blog explains. “Gemini in Chrome is an AI browsing assistant to help you get things done on Mac, Windows and iOS devices, allowing you to ask Gemini for answers and insights, conduct in-depth two-way conversations with Gemini Live, and more using the context of up to 10 browser tabs along with the Google Workspace app.”
Workspace customers with access to Gemini in Chrome can now share the current tab and up to 10 additional tabs with the AI so that it can use their contents as context for prompts. Google notes that once the user enables sharing, it will remain in place for the current tab until the user turns it off.
Gemini in Chrome for Google Workspace includes enterprise-grade data protections, and nothing users exchange with this is seen by humans or used to train generative AI models. This feature is available in Chrome for Windows, Mac, and the iPhone for users who are over 18 years old, in the United States, and in English only for now.
Google says that Gemini in Chrome will roll out starting immediately.
