Microsoft is Removing ChatGPT Builder from Copilot Pro

Microsoft alerted Copilot Pro subscribers today that it will remove Copilot GPT Builder from the product on July 10, 2024.

“This will allow us to focus on different AI-based features which improve Copilot Pro,” a Microsoft email reads. “Starting July 10, you will no longer be able to create and configure Copilot GPTs in Copilot Pro, and any Copilot GPTs you have created will no longer be accessible.”

Copilot (Pro or otherwise) supports custom GPTs like Designer (for image creation), Vacation planner, Cooking assistant, and Fitness trainer, and I assume those will continue forward (and perhaps be added to). It also supports plugins and a Notebook feature that helps users create longer, editable prompts.

And Microsoft says that other Copilot Pro perks, like the ability to use Copilot in Microsoft 365 applications like Word, are not changing.

You can find a FAQ about this change on the Microsoft Support website.
