Amazon is integrating its next-gen Alexa+ assistant into its Amazon Music mobile app. Starting today, Alexa+ early access users in the US can use the assistant to create personalized playlists, ask details about songs, or even find a specific song by sharing some details about it.
“The integration of Alexa+ into the Amazon Music app brings a new depth of understanding to interactive AI capabilities in music streaming— from simple queries, to the complicated and obscure,” the Amazon Music team said today. “Customers can dive deeper into genres, uncover artist influences and discographies, trace sample origins from their favorite tracks, and even ask, “What’s this song about?””
Alexa+ can be accessed in the Amazon Music app by tapping the “A” button at the bottom right corner of the screen. Users just need to ask the assistant what they want to hear, and they can follow up to dive deeper into specific genres. All personalized playlists created by Alexa+ can be saved in users’ Amazon Music library.
While Alexa+ is free to use during the early access period, it will be free with a Prime membership or available to non-Prime customers for $19.99/month once it goes out of early access. However, the next-gen assistant is available across all Amazon Music subscription tiers.
