Apple Releases iOS 14, iPadOS 14, macOS 11, tvOS 14, and watchOS 7 Developer Beta 2

Apple today released the second developer betas for iOS 14, iPadOS 14, macOS 11, tvOS 14, and watchOS 7, paving the way for the public betas later this month.

As you may recall, Apple had released the first developer betas for each of these products two weeks ago during its WWDC20 virtual event. And at least two of them—iOS 14 and macOS 11 Big Sur—feature major user experience changes.

I’m running the iOS 14 beta on my iPhone 11 Pro Max and have the macOS 11 Big Sur beta on my 2020 MacBook Air, so I’m installing the new versions as I write this. The second developer beta is usually about fit and finish, but I’ll check back if I find out there’s anything new.

It's actually quite refreshing when you don't give a damn about Apple. No pressure to upgrade, no lock-in, no controlling practises and no elitist attitude. Yeah, it feels good.

Thanks for the tip, Paul, concerning IOS 14 Beta 2. I use an iPhone like yours and I was wondering if there would an update before the public beta was released. One of the features that I am hoping will eventually land on the iPhone is the CarKeys for Honda apps.

I'm not totally on top of this, but I believe there are normally two developer betas and then the public beta, which is often the same as the second dev beta. I could be wrong.

So we might get the formal release in October or November?

I would guess we will be around 6-7 betas overall and things start to come together around beta 4. Meaning things get stable, but overall these betas have been pretty good.

Very stable, no show stoppers and I have all the betas on all my daily use devices.
