Apple Updates Almost All of its Software Platforms

Apple has released iOS 14.2, iPadOS 14.2, tvOS 14.2, watchOS 7.1, and HomePod 14.2, delivering many fixes and a few new features. If you have an Apple device of any kind, you may want to check for updates.

iOS 14.2 (and the nearly identical iPadOS 14.2) appear to have the most improvements, with 100 new emoji, 8 new wallpapers, support for the as-yet-not-released the iPhone 12 Leather Sleeve with MagSafe, redesigned AirPlay controls, a new Shazam toggle in Control Center so you can more easily identify a nearby playing song, and more.

The real question is when does Big Sur drop. My guess is they want to drop it at the same time the new Macs ship.

Then we got to the point where we can't upgrade them so…not much use anymore.

I am sure others use them for various things but it always just a drive cloner for me, as in clone to the new drive attached via USB and then swap them.

In reply to Calibr21:

The leather sleeve, which covers the front and back, has an area on the front where the time can be displayed when in the sleeve. The sleeve and MagSafe in general, have NFC chips that tell the phone what accessory is attached.
