WWDC Will Be Virtual Again This Year

Apple announced today that WWDC21, the coming rendition of its annual developer conference, will be all-virtual for the second year in a row. Thanks, COVID-19!
“We love bringing our developers together each year at WWDC to learn about our latest technologies and to connect them with Apple engineers,” Apple vice president Susan Prescott says. “We are working to make WWDC21 our biggest and best yet, and are excited to offer Apple developers new tools to support them as they create apps that change the way we live, work, and play.”

WWDC21 is scheduled for June 7 to 11. Apple will discuss future versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS at the show, and rumors point to the firm branding the next macOS as macOS 12, indicating that it’s moving back to annual major versioning increments after using version 10.x for almost 20 years.
Apple counts over 28 million registered developers for its various platforms now and it will provide them with a keynote, various State of the Union presentations, online sessions, 1:1 labs with technical guidance, and “new ways for developers to interact with Apple engineers and designers to learn about the latest frameworks and technologies” during the virtual event.
