Apple Releases iOS 17.6, macOS 14.6, and tvOS 17.6

Apple devices MacBook Pro iPad iPhone

Apple released yesterday new software updates for its full product lineup, with iOS 17.6, iPadOS 17.6, macOS Sonoma 14.6, watchOS 10.6, visionOS 1.3, and tvOS 10.6 now available to download. Most of these updates focus on bug fixes and security updates, but new features are coming to macOS and tvOS as well.

With macOS Sonoma 14.6, Apple is improving multiple monitor support on MacBook Pro models with M3 chips released in the fall of 2023. These devices can now be used with up to two external displays when the laptop lid is closed.

For Apple TV users, tvOS 10.6 introduces a new Catch Up feature for live matches available via Apple’s MLS Season Pass offering. This feature will let users joining a game in progress see a series of clips highlighting the key moments they’ve missed. This feature will also be available on the Apple TV app for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, and other platforms where it’s available.

Apple is now gearing up for the release of iOS 18, macOS Sequoia 15, and other annual updates for its software platforms coming in the fall. Yesterday, the company released the first developer betas of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1, which include a subset of Apple Intelligence features that are currently available behind a waitlist.
