Apple released new security updates yesterday for its software platforms with iOS 18.6.2, iPadOS 18.6.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.6.1 now available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users. The updates follow the release of the iOS & iPadOS 26 beta 7 two days ago.
iOS 18.6.2 is the second update for iOS 18 this month after iOS 18.6.1 last week introduced a new Blood Oxygen experience for US users with Apple Watch Series 9 and Series 10, and Apple Watch Ultra 2. Apple deactivated the feature on these Apple Watch models sold after January 17th 2024 due to a patent dispute with Masimo. With the new update, measurements are now calculated on iPhone and viewed in the Health app.
There are no specific details about the “important security fixes” included in iOS 18.6.2, iPadOS 18.6.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.6.1. However, installing the updates is still recommended for all users.
Yesterday, Apple also released iPadOS 17.7.10, macOS Sequoia 15.6.1, macOS Sonoma 14.7.8, and macOS Ventura 13.7.8. These updates address the same security vulnerability where processing a malicious image file may result in memory corruption.
