Apple Services Had Record-Breaking 2025

Apple announced today that its Services business experienced a “record-breaking year” in 2025.

“From Apple TV, Apple Music and Apple News, to daily essentials like Apple Pay and iCloud, we delivered enriching experiences to users worldwide,” Apple senior vice president Eddie Cue writes. “Reflecting on 2025, we remained committed to enhancing our users’ daily lives, with incredible engagement during the holiday season.”

Some of the Apple Services milestones from 2025 include:

  • Over 850 million average weekly users globally across over 175 countries and regions
  • App Store saw record visitor numbers between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day, and while there are no 2025 numbers, the App Store has paid over $550 billion to developers since 2008
  • Apple Pay eliminated over $1 billion in fraud
  • Apple TV experienced a viewership record in December, up 36 percent year-over-year (YOY)
  • Apple Music experienced all-time highs in listening and new subscribers in its 10th year
  • Apple Podcasts experienced record listeners, plays, and subscribers in its 20th year
  • Shazam generated over 1 billion song recognitions
  • Fitness+ expanded to 28 new countries and regions
  • Apple News now features over 3000 publications and over 600 titles in its 10th year

Apple also touted new features and experiences that it brought to its services in 2025, and the expansion of these services worldwide. For example, Apple Wallet now uses Apple Intelligence so users can more easily keep track of orders, Apple Maps uses on-device intelligence for managing Preferred Routes and Visited Places, Apple Music introduced a DJ-like AutoMix feature, plus Lyrics Translation and Pronunciation, Apple Podcasts supports AI-powered features like Enhance Dialogue, Fitness+ added digital dubbing in Spanish and German, plus Custom Plans, and Apple Arcade expanded its catalog with more than 50 new titles, without ads.

Apple had already telegraphed that it will report record earnings in the fourth quarter of 2025, and this suggests that the quarter might have been even better than expected.
