Apple released macOS Tahoe 26.4.1 yesterday to address a Wi-Fi connectivity issue on the just-released M5 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and Max chips. The update follows the release of iOS 26.4.1 and iPadOS 26.4.1 on Wednesday, which fixed an iCloud data syncing issue and automatically enabled Stolen Device Protection on enterprise devices.
According to Apple, macOS 26.4.1 fixes an issue where MacBook Air with M5 and MacBook Pro with M5 Pro/Max chips failed to join 802.1X Wi-Fi networks while using content filter extensions. There are no other changes listed in the release notes.
Two weeks ago, the release of macOS 26.4 brought several new features, including the return of a Compact tab bar option in Safari, advanced image creation and editing tools in the Freeform app, and more accessible subtitle and caption settings. The update also added 8 new emoji, AirPods Max 2 support, and the ability to mark reminders as urgent with a keyboard shortcut.
Apple is now expected to release the 26.5 updates for all of its software platforms in May, and the first betas were released last week. Apple is currently testing end-to-end encryption for RCS messages on iOS 26.5, a new “Suggested Places” feature in Apple Maps, and Live Activities support for third-party accessories in the EU.
