Mozilla has announced a new version of its flagship Firefox web browser that is designed specifically for Appleās iPad.
āWe know that iPads arenāt just bigger versions of iPhones. You use them differently, you need them for different things,ā the Mozilla announcement explains. āSo rather than just make a bigger version of our browser for iOS, we made Firefox for iPad look and feel like it was custom made for a tablet. Mostly because it was.ā

The new version of Firefox for iOS will offer the following unique features on the iPad:
Split screen support. The iPad provides a limited range of split screen capabilities, depending on model, that let you see two apps on-screen at the same time. Firefox now supports this.
Unique tab management. Using the iPadās more voluminous display, Firefox now displays tabs as graphical tiles so you can more easily manage them.
Quick access to Private Browsing. Firefoxās privacy mode is now available via an always-visible button in the lower-left corner of the app window so you can access it more quickly.
Integration with Microsoft Outlook. While iOS does not let users choose the default browser at the system level, Microsoft Outlook does allow this, so that you can open web links in email using the browser of your choice. So Outlook users can now set Firefox as their default.
Keyboard shortcuts. iPad users with a Smart Keyboard or other keyboard can now interact with the browser using familiar keyboard shortcuts like CMD + R to refresh and CMD + F to find text in the currently-viewed web page.
Send Tabs. Like its desktop cousin, Firefox for iPad lets you send tabs to Firefox on your other devices.
Mozilla also notes that Firefox for iPad supports all the familiar features that Firefox users expect, like Night mode for reading in low light, a Dark theme, and Tracking Protection.
