Microsoft is revamping some parts of Microsoft Teams for Education just in time for back-to-school season. The company is rolling out a new experience that’s supposed to be simpler, faster, and more seamless for students and teachers.
The new look for Microsoft Teams for Education replaces the main Teams panel of the app with a new, graphical interface that makes it much easier to get to your conversations and channels through the grid view. Microsoft’s also introducing a new design for announcements that make it easier for teachers to highlight new assignments, student achievements, and other announcements.

The company is also improving the built-in Gradebook feature by introducing the ability to view the Gradebook of individual students, as well as an improved interface that makes it much easier to see the performance of the whole class. The app also now includes the ability to import an existing Class Notebook from OneNote, so you can get started with a new class team much easier than before.
