Google Bard Gets New Features and Launches in Europe and Brazil

Google Bard

Google’s Bard chatbot is now available in new languages and countries including Brazil and Europe. As part of the July update for its chatbot, Google is also introducing new features including the ability to listen to Bard’s responses and share them with other people.

“Today we’re announcing Bard’s biggest expansion to date. It’s now available in most of the world, and in the most widely spoken languages,” wrote Jack Krawczyk, Product Lead for Google Bard. The list of 40 new languages that Bard now supports include Arabic, Chinese, German, Hindi and Spanish.

Google Bard may not get the same level of attention as ChatGPT or even Microsoft’s Bing chatbot, but Google is committed to making it better over time. Here are the new Bard features designed to help users be more productive with the chatbot:

Listen to responses: Users can now listen to the chatbot responses in over 40 new languages.

More tone and style options: When using Bard in English, users can now adjust Bard’s responses by choosing between simple, long, short, professional, or casual options.

Revisit previous conversations: Bard now allows users to pin and rename their conversations with the chatbot.

Google Lens integration: Bard is now capable of analyzing photos when users upload images with prompts in English.

Share responses with others: Bard now provides links to share its responses in over 40 languages with other people.

Code exportation: When using Bard for coding tasks, users can now export their Python code to Replit in addition to the existing Google Colab integration.

If Bard was Google’s first response to ChatGPT, the company is also working on adding generative AI features to its regular search engine. The new generative AI-powered Search experience is now available in preview via Google’s Search Labs, and enthusiasts need to join a waitlist to get access to it.
