Microsoft Bing is Getting Dark Mode Support

Bing dark mode

Microsoft’s Bing search engine is finally adding dark mode support. The new feature has started rolling out on the web, and it works across Bing Search and the new AI-powered Chat experience.

Google Search added a dark mode back in 2021, so it was time for Microsoft’s search engine to catch up. To check if dark mode is already available for you, click on the hamburger menu on the top right corner of the search engine, and check if a new “Theme” setting is available.

According to Jordi Ribas, CVP and Head of Engineering and Product for Bing, the rollout will be completed over the next few days. As of this writing, I’m seeing this new dark mode in just one of my different browser profiles, so your mileage may vary.

Microsoft adding an AI-powered chatbot to Bing made the search engine cross the 100 million active users milestone earlier this year. Whether this new dark mode can help Bing to get another boost in market share remains to be seen, however.
