Google unveiled today new safety features for its search engine, as well as new tools to help users control how their personal information appears in search results. A new SafeSearch blurring option will roll out to all users this month, and it will blur all explicit images in search results. It will be enabled by default for users who don’t already have the SafeSearch filter turned on.
Google is also improving the ‘Results about you’ feature it launched in the US last year. This feature currently lets users request the removal of search results that include any personal information such as phone numbers, home addresses, or email addresses.

A new ‘Results about you’ dashboard will be launching next week, and it will be able to alert users when new results with their personal information are showing up in Google Search. When that happens, users will be able to request their removal right from the dashboard.
Lastly, Google announced that users can now choose to remove any personal explicit images from search results. “Of course, removing content from Google Search does not remove it from the web or other search engines, but we hope these changes give you more control over private information appearing in Google Search,” the company explained.
