Office LTSC 2024 Commercial Preview is Now Available

Office LTSC 2024 Commercial Preview

Microsoft has released this week the commercial preview of Office LTSC 2024, which is now available on both Windows and macOS. This allows organizations that need to keep their Office apps on-premises to test the next perpetual version of the productivity suite coming later this year.

The Office LTSC 2024 commercial preview includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook, as well as Skype for Business, Visio 2024, and Project 2024. As Microsoft previously explained, Office LTSC 2024 won’t come with Microsoft Publisher, which is being retired, while Microsoft Teams will need to be downloaded separately.

Office LTSC 2024 will get 5 years of support on Windows 11 and Windows 10, just like the upcoming Windows 11 LTSC that will also launch later this year. However, Office LTSC 2024 also won’t receive any new features after its release, and it will also not support real-time collaboration and other cloud-based features.

“Office LTSC 2024 builds upon the core functionalities of earlier versions, introducing several advancements to enhance productivity, security, and accessibility,” Microsoft explained. “This update includes new options for creating meetings and refined search capabilities in Outlook. Additionally, Excel receives a range of new features, such as Dynamic Charts and Arrays, marking significant improvements over the previous Office LTSC release.”

You can find detailed instructions for installing the Office LTSC 2024 commercial preview on this support page. Windows users will need to uninstall previous versions of Office, Project, and Visio before installing the preview. On macOS, however, the preview will automatically replace previous versions of Office for Mac.
