Fantastical, an award-winning calendar app that’s quite popular among people using Apple devices is now available on Windows 10 and Windows 11. The app has just landed on the Microsoft Store, and it uses a freemium business model.
“We’ve spent the last 4 years making Fantastical better than ever across Apple devices, and with version 4.0 we decided to go even bigger by finally bringing the world’s best calendar app to a Windows PC near you,” Fantastical developer Flexibits explained today.
Fantastical for Windows comes at a time when Microsoft is replacing its streamlined UWP-based Calendar app with the new web-based Outlook for Windows, which is still a work in progress. For people looking for a better alternative, Fantastical for Windows support the most popular calendar account types, and it also has support for Google Tasks, Microsoft 365 tasks, and Todoist.
The app offers full screen day, week, month, quarter, and year views, and it also lets Windows users quickly check their schedule from the mini window in the system tray area of the taskbar. However, Fantastical’s killer feature is probably the Fantastical parser, which lets users create new calendar events using natural language prompts. Users can even specify the calendar or task list to use, location details, and add guests on Google accounts.
Be aware that you will need to either create a free Flexibits account upon launch to use Fantastical for Windows or log in with your Apple or Google account. There’s also a 14-day trial for checking out the app’s premium features, which include push updates for Google and Exchange accounts, event and task templates, the ability to add Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, and Microsoft Teams calls to calendars, and more.
A Flexibits Premium subscription costs $6.99 per month or $4.75/month when billed annually, and it unlocks premium Fantastical features on Apple devices as well. In addition to Windows, Fantastical is available on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and the Apple Vision Pro.
