Proton VPN Comes to Apple TV

Proton VPN Apple TV

Proton VPN is now available natively on Apple TV, giving privacy and security minded customers a way to watch content anywhere. It’s compatible with Apple’s Vision Pro headset too.

“The Proton VPN Apple TV app was among the most requested features from our community,” Proton VPN general manager David Peterson says. “This app allows you to easily and securely watch your favorite shows, films, and sports events on your big-screen TV via your Apple TV, no matter where you are. Proton VPN offers over 8,500 servers across 112 countries, and with our new tvOS app, you can stream TV shows, movies, and live sports from services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, as well as a broad range of regional content providers from the comfort of your living room.”

Proton VPN for tvOS requires a paid Proton VPN plan. It’s based on the company’s app for iPad, which explains why it works with Vision Pro as well. And it features a simpler new user interface that was redesigned to be intuitive and user-friendly when used on the TV with a remote control, as you would expect.

Since I’m in Mexico right now, this is an ideal time to test this app, so I’ll try to get on that quickly. But this looks very interesting: You just install the Proton VPN app from the App Store on Apple TV, sign-in, and then select a specific country (or “fastest country”) to take advantage of its privacy, security, and location-changing capabilities.
