Google is expanding the availability of Gemini in Chrome to users in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and other markets. The company also announced today a couple of new updates for small businesses, which will soon be able to connect their Google Business Profile to Gemini to accelerate their workflows.
First of all, Gemini in Chrome is continuing its global rollout following its initial US launch in September. The chatbot is integrated into the desktop and iOS versions of the browser, and it can be used to summarize web pages, compare information across multiple tabs, edit and create images, and more.
By enabling Personal Intelligence, Gemini in Chrome can also connect to other Gmail and other Google apps to personalize its responses, and it can also remember context from past conversations. Personal Intelligence is currently only available on the desktop version of Chrome, and it also requires a paid Google AI subscription. Earlier this week, Google dropped the price of its AI Plus subscription to just $4.99/month, and it also doubled the amount of Google Drive storage to 400 GB.
Lastly, a new Gemini integration with Google Business profiles will start rolling out globally this month, along with new Business notebooks. Using the Gemini app, businesses will be able to analyze search impressions, update operating hours, draft responses to customer reviews, and more. The new Business notebooks, however, will allow organizations to get custom insights based on their Google Business Profile information and other sources, see critical action items, and more.
