Instagram Now Lets You Add GIFs to Your Stories

Instagram is rolling out a new GIF Stickers feature for Instagram Stories on Android and iOS. The company partnered with Giphy to build a new library of transparent GIFs which can be added as animated stickers to your stories. Just like regular stickers, you can search for GIF stickers on GIPHY or select a trending sticker, and then them to your stories.

But the bigger news? Instagram will soon let users add any photos or videos of any size to their Stories. The company will release a new update in the coming weeks that will let you add media of any size to your Stories without forcing you to crop things out. It will also show a color gradient on the empty space that matches your photo or video to make sure things look nice.

As for GIF stickers, they are rolling out today and you’ll likely have it on the Instagram app sometime soon with version 29.

Why must they tart up an otherwise perfectly fine app? Take a photo, share a photo.

EDIT: Wow I'm starting to sound like a cranky old man.
